Educational Qualifications - What you need to teach
The minimum requirements are a Bachelor Degree in any field, and a teaching certificate. Two popular options are the TEFL and the CELTA course.

Visa - What you need
You will need a Non Imigrant class 'B' visa to work in Thailand. This can be obtained from a Thai Embassy or Consulate abroad.

If you don't have this visa type you will need to visit a Consulate or Embassy after you arrive in Thailand and take all the required documentation with you. Elite you help you through this process once you arrive in Bangkok and accept a position with the company.

• PEPSI

No! Once you begin teaching you will realise that most students appreciate having a teacher that does not speak Thai. It encourages them to use their English skills to communicate with you, rather than simply conversing in their mother tongue.

You may want to learn the basics of the language to help you with life outside the classroom - ordering food, getting directions, day-to-day basics. For more information on learning Thai, check out the following sites.

Is it easy to find somewhere to live?
Yes, there are many places available to rent. When you first arrive the best thing to do is check into a hotel and after you have found where you are working, look for an apartment in that area. Most people travel to Bangkok this way, and have most things organised inside a week or two.

The most common type of housing is a studio style apartment. These can range from single rooms to large multi-room condominiums with all the fittings. It's up to you and your budget.
